Idelle Newburge LMHC, NCC
Idelle Newburge is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who has been in private practice in Plantation, Florida for over 25 years. She serves as an officer of the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association of Southeast Florida and is also a trainer and advisor for their Listen to Children Program. Idelle counsels children, adolescents, and adults. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, depression, stress and dually diagnosed disorders. The therapeutic modalities she uses include cognitive behavioral, solution focused, interpersonal, hypnotherapy, relaxation and humanistic approaches. Idelle helps her patients identify and explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviors so that they can learn to solve their problems and make healthier choices and decisions. She assists her patients in their handling of relationships, schooling, birthing, working, parenting, aging, loss, death and dying- basically all of life’s transitions and stages! She continues to be inspired by the power of the human spirit to survive and thrive. Her therapy revolves around positivity, mindfulness and empowerment. Idelle is a Diplomate of the American Society of Experts in Traumatic Stress and The National Center for Crisis Management. Additionally, she is a professional member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the American Counseling Association and the American and Florida Mental Health Counselors Association. Most recently, Idelle was recognized as a Top Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Plantation, Florida by The International Association of Healthcare Professionals.
